A note from Pippa’s Mum:
“In November 2015 my two week old daughter was rushed into Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen with anaphylaxis due to a virus. Scary scary times when you’re at home in a very remote area of West Wales and your baby goes blue and limp. On arriving on the ward we were met by amazing staff who looked after this distraught Mummy with as much care and attention for us as for our daughter Pippa.
Once she was stable, an amazing nurse was getting her comfortable in a cot and went to fetch her a blanket to make a nest to try and prop her up. She came back with a beautiful patchwork quilt. She told us where the quilts come from and instantly I felt as though we had received a big hug from a complete stranger. Just knowing that someone thought enough about people in our situation to spend the time and effort creating works of art was an unbelievable reassurance.
Thank you so much to the lady who made the beautiful blanket and making two very worried parents feel cared for. Thank you again, you really did lift our hearts.”
